QuadrigaCX cold wallet addresses
this address's ancestry traces 3 degrees to the earliest coins
QuadrigaCX, a Canadian exchange, collapsed in early 2019 after the reported death of its founder, who was described as the only person able to access the exchange's cold storage. Court-appointed monitor Ernst & Young reported that it had identified six bitcoin cold wallets, that five had held no bitcoin since April 2018, and that the sixth appeared to have been used only to route funds into the exchange's hot wallet. Independent blockchain analysis published a set of addresses said to correspond to that cold storage. Several of those addresses saw movement again in December 2022, which the monitor said was not authorised by it.
