Degrees of Satoshi · Learn with evidence
How this encyclopedia is made
An inspectable research and publishing process, with separate records for evidence, changes, and verification.
Research and drafting
Automated researchers read primary specifications, versioned code, issuer disclosures, governance records, original correspondence and incident reports. AI systems draft the explanations and examples. Degrees of Satoshi publishes and maintains the resulting records.
Independent automated verification
A separate automated pass opens sources and checks whether they support the claims, including scope, dates, calculations and contradictory evidence. This is not a claim of external expert or named human review. Unresolved material claims are held for review, or explicitly presented as uncertain with supporting evidence. A source responding successfully is not factual verification.
Five different dates
- Publication: when an entry first appeared.
- Substantive modification: when its explanation or facts changed.
- Source retrieval: when a source was accessed.
- Independent verification: when a separate reviewer checked the content.
- Data observation: when a measured value applies.
Rebuilding the layout does not change factual review dates. Content fingerprints invalidate an earlier verification when substantive content changes.
Follow and reuse evidence
Quick answers and key facts link to reusable claim records. Sections cite their sources, with locators and versions where available. HTML, Markdown and JSON come from the same records and retain qualifications. Exports make reuse easier; they do not guarantee citation or ranking by any assistant.

Corrections and maintenance
Each entry records substantive revisions. Report a correction with the claim and supporting evidence. Registered deterministic data adapters may publish validated observations after launch; source changes, conflicting values and explanatory edits go through editorial review. Failed refreshes retain the last accepted value and observation date. Released historical research snapshots remain immutable.
Privacy and measurement
We count allowlisted article, evidence, export, search-result and tool events in aggregate. Search terms, wallet addresses and persistent reader identifiers are not included in these events. Search and learning calculations run in your browser.
